Alina and I planned the photoshoot in Koreatown over a smoky grill of bulgogi and half-drank bottles of soju. The aroma of grilled meats and smoke filled the room, with Jungkook's "Seven" playing faintly in the background amid the lively chatter of the late Friday night dinner crowd.

"So when are we going to shoot?" she asked, scooping yet another spoonful of cheese corn. I had never seen anyone consume so much cheese corn before.

Truth be told, I've always wanted to do a shoot inspired by the Hong Kong of the 90s. Drawing inspiration from Wong Kar Wai's cult classics Fallen Angels and Chungking Express, this new project, fittingly set in Chinatown, was about to bring that vision to life.
